FAMILIAR FACES. Anthropomorphic figurine heads from Tel Kinrot (pictured) in the Galilee and Ashdod in ancient Philistia date to the mid-11th–mid-10th centuries B.C.E. With puncturing on the chin (to simulate a beard, as shown here) and on the hairline (or headdress), these serve as good parallels for the figurine heads from Tel Moẓa and Qeiyafa.
