FAMILIAR FACES. Anthropomorphic figurine heads from Ashdod (pictured) in ancient Philistia and Tel Kinrot in the Galilee date to the mid-11th–mid-10th centuries B.C.E. With puncturing on the hairline or headdress (as pictured here), or on the chin (to simulate a beard) these serve as good parallels for the figurine heads from Tel Moẓa and Qeiyafa.
