SEED TO FRUIT BEARER. Before being planted, Hannah’s seed (1) was photographed and measured at about 3 cm long. The germinated date seedling (2) was photographed again at 88 months. After being transplanted outside, Hannah produced dates when 10 years old (see image opposite).
