GLORIOUS CHURCH. The Church of the Glorious Martyr, near modern Beit Shemesh, served as a pilgrimage site from the fifth to tenth centuries C.E. Archaeologists have created an innovative virtual reconstruction of the church complex, made available to the public via a web-based app. Following in the virtual footsteps of many pilgrims, readers can visit the church and explore its artifacts.
