DOZENS OF CUT STONE PIECES, including marble, alabaster, and granite, were excavated from the opus reticulatum building at Banias. Found in various shapes and sizes, the multicolored pieces once created a decorative floor but, not knowing how the pieces fit together, archaeologists stored them away in boxes, forgotten until 2013, when our authors decided to take a second look.
