SCROLL CENTER. Archaeologists have identified a room at the Qumran settlement as a scriptorium (room for copying manuscripts). In it they found inkwells and benches, which may have served as desks. Scrolls, likely even some of the Dead Sea Scrolls, would have been written there. This reconstruction envisions the space in ancient times.
