Tel Dan Excavations, Hebrew Union College/A. Biran
Tel Dan Lishkah: Adjacent to the shrine, excavator Avraham Biran uncovered a 60-foot-long rectangular structure, called a lishkah (chamber), built in the ninth or eighth century B.C.E. apparently to accommodate priestly functions. This, along with other finds at the Dan shrine, suggests the cultic character of the site.
