An orange carnelian seal and its gold pin (shown here, compare with photo of seal impression) show little evidence of the passage of 3,500 years since they were crafted in what is now northern Syria. Originally, gold cups on either end of the seal held it firmly on the pin, but only the lower cup survived the centuries.
