Ammonite King. Perhaps this life-size limestone head sculpted in the ninth century B.C. resembles Nahash, the Ammonite whom Saul battled at Jabesh-Gilead in about 1000 B.C. This Ammonite king wears a crown with stylized ostrich feathers on either side and a row of flowers carved in relief in front. He has a moustache, curled beard, plaited hair, and wears earrings.
