A similar plaque (shown here, compare with previous photo) was found in the ruins of a fourth-century A.D., structure in Priene, also in Asia Minor. Carved in relief, this plaque displays an etrog, left, and a lulav and shofar, right. Once again, rolled Torah scrolls appear beneath the menorah. The Torah scrolls are more easily recognizable here, and allow us to make the same identification in the less easily recognizable depiction on the plaque from Sardis.
