Diminutive but detailed, this 6 3/4-inch uninscribed statue equals the fine quality found in Gudea’s statues (see photo of statue from Gudea). This work may represent one of Gudea’s wives. Like contemporaneous Sumerian poets, the sculptor paid careful attention to details of the female physiognomy.
