The facade of the sanctuary. The central focus of the Sanctuary facade was the magnificent Sanctuary portal flanked by freestanding columns and draped with a golden vine. Above the portal were small decorated windows. In the doorway, the right half shows the outer door; behind it, unseen, is yet another door. In the left half of the doorway, the outermost tapestry veil hangs. The “chambers of the slaughter knives” are seen in the lower corners of the section.
