The Aleppo Codex. The finest Masoretic text, this tenth-century C.E. manuscript may have been the first vocalized, complete Hebrew Bible. Until recently, it was the oldest complete manuscript of the Hebrew Bible. During a pogrom against Aleppo’s Jewish community in 1947, much of the Torah (Pentateuch) and other sections were destroyed.
