A crazy quilt of patches has resulted from numerous repairs and restorations made to the dilapidated Abisha scroll over the centuries. The column seen here consists of two parts. An unknown restorer took the bottom portion of a column, containing the appropriate text, from another scroll and patched it into the upper half of this column. The wide spacing of the letters near the bottom of the patch, near the center of the picture, is typical of the bottoms of columns.
