Genesis Apocryphon, a Qumran scroll found in Cave 1, contains an interesting parallel to Mary’s conception through the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:35). In it, Noah’s father, Lamech, suspects that Noah was conceived through the visit of an angel to Noah’s mother, Batenosh. This photo shows the scroll before it was unrolled.
