A luxurious lifestyle characterized the palaces at Ebla. Their splendor included the use of Egyptian-style ivory or shell inlays to adorn furniture. This well-preserved example found in Palace G, a carbonized wooden armrest and animal decoration from a chair, features shell inlays.
