Basic ring. This simple circlet reflects the basic model of the Greco-Roman gold ring. Although the hoop is square in section, a rounded hoop was more common in antiquity, as today. Dating to about the second century C.E., the ring features a series of knobs soldered onto three of the hoop’s four facets.
