The second shrine from the outside (drawing, shown here) was originally covered in linen cloths draped over a wooden frame. Its design bears a remarkable resemblance to the biblical Tabernacle. Although the shrines themselves had solid walls, they—like the frame of the Tabernacle—were fixed together with tenon and socket joints and could easily be taken apart and transported (compare with photo of outermost shrine and drawing of nested shrines).
