The healing arts. French-Hawaiian artist Jean Charlot created the ceramic panel “St. Luke Physician” in 1958 for display in the Saint Francis Medical Center in Honolulu. Thousands of hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, healing societies and service organizations bear the name of Luke, the patron saint and protector of both doctors and artists.
