The golden calf receives adoration from a crowd of worshipers (top roundel), in a depiction of the events of Exodus 32. The commentary describes the worshipers as “those who adore the devil and believe in him.” The roundel below shows the crowd—some of them bareheaded Christians—led by a Jew who offers a bag of money to a goat demon. The kissing couple at left represents the sin of lust.
