H|ILQIYAHU@‘ADAYAHU.COM reads the impression of this seventh-century B.C.E. Hebrew seal. Well, to be precise it says: “Belonging to H|ilqiyahu son of ‘Adayahu.” But the ancient formula used to identify the owner of a seal as belonging to a certain group (in this case, his family) was surprisingly close to our modern formula for addressing e-mail correspondence. According to Mary Joan Winn Leith, the Internet revolution has been going on for 4,000 years!
