Megiddo’s massive gateway has long been identified as the work of King Solomon. Now excavators at Megiddo believe the gate dates a good century after Solomon reigned. Their suggestion might seem controversial, but, says Ronald Hendel, it doesn’t really change what we always knew about Solomon.
