Enoch or Jesus? Only the legs and feet of the ascending individuals are visible in this illumination. In an early 11th-century Anglo-Saxon manuscript of the Book of Genesis from the British Library, called the Caedmon Genesis (shown here, compare with photo of 14th-century Book of Hours illumination), two angels carry Enoch up to the clouds. (Enoch also appears at the bottom of the page, looking up at the heavens where he’s bound.)
