This life is vain In vain do you race, O man, in this life? Short-lived in this world, long are the ages of the world beyond; what kind of joy can be nourished? Shun therefore to live in joy. May you desire the great Lord, before the hour comes upon you and the creator finds you unprepared, confess in fervent penance, for God wishes. Do not listen to Beliar (the Devil); rather listen and run with eagerness, cry out, for the only compassion he has given you in his own Kingdom, the undying one unto all ages
This life is vain
In vain do you race, O man,
in this life?
Short-lived in this world, long are the
ages
of the world beyond; what kind of joy
can be nourished?
Shun therefore to live in joy. May you
desire
the great Lord, before the hour comes
upon you
and the creator finds you unprepared,
confess
in fervent penance, for God wishes.
Do not listen to Beliar (the Devil); rather
listen and run
with eagerness, cry out, for the only
compassion he has given you in his own
Kingdom,
the undying one unto all ages
