For the leader on the gittit,a a psalm of David.
1. a O Lord, our master,
b how majestic [is] Your name in all the earth.
2. a You, whose splendor was told3 over the heavens,
b out of the mouth of babes and sucklings.b
3. a You have founded a strength because of Your foes,
b to put an end to enemy and avenger.c
4. a When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
b the moon and the stars You established,
5. a What is man that You are mindful of him,
b humankind, that You pay him heed?
6. a You have set him little lower than the angels,
b with honor and glory You have crowned him.
7. a You have given him dominion over the work of Your hands,
b You have placed all at his feet.
8. a Sheep and oxen, all of them,
b and also beasts of the field.
9. a Bird of the air and fish of the sea,
b whatever passes along the paths of the sea.
