Getting There: Kerkouane lies on the Cape Bon peninsula, about 75 miles northeast of Tunis. The site can be reached by car, bus and taxi.
Where to Stay: There are no accommodations available in Kerkouane itself, but the nearby town of Kelibia offers several reliable hotels. The Palmarina Hotel (telephone: 270462) is reasonably priced and has a pool, bar, restaurant and café. Many visitors choose to combine a trip to Kerkouane with a stay in the Cape Bon resort town of Hammamet. An extremely popular resort community—complete with beaches, elegant haciendas and water sports—Hammamet boasts several glamorous four-star hotels including the Hammamet Sheraton (telephone: 226555) and the Hammamet Abou Nawas (telephone: 281344).
