Birger A. Pearson

Birger A. Pearson is a Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara and Professor and Interim Director of the Religious Studies Program at the University of California, Berkeley. He was one of the original translators of the Nag Hammadi Library. His research focuses on the roots of Gnosticism and Christianity and he is author of numerous books and articles on the subject, including Ancient Gnosticism: Traditions and Literature (Fortress Press, 2007).
