John Dominic Crossan

John Dominic Crossan is a Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies at DePaul University in Chicago. He has written more than 20 books on the historical Jesus, including Excavating Jesus (2001) (with archaeologist Jonathan L. Reed) and In Search of Paul (2004). He alongside Robert Funk founded the Jesus Seminar, which examined the Biblical texts in order to determine what sayings in them were authentic to the historical Jesus. He has also served as President for the Society of Biblical Literature.
