Mayer I. Gruber

Mayer Gruber is an Associate Professor in the Department of Bible and Ancient Near East at Ben Gurion University of the Negev.  While he was teaching at Spertus College in Chicago, Dr. Gruber developed a course called “Women in Jewish Law” in which the students, many of them women with no previous background in rabbinics, learned to use the Babylonian Talmud as a primary source for women’s history.
