Tal Ilan

Tal Ilan is an Israeli-born lexicographer and historian whose research emphasis is on women’s history in Judaism. She is also an expert in Jewish history in late antiquity. She taught history at the Rothberg School for Overseas Students at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and is currently a Professor of Jewish Studies at the Freie University in Berlin. She is the author of Jewish Women in Greco-Roman Palestine (Hendrickson, 1996) and Mine and Yours Are Hers: Retrieving Women’s History from Rabbinic Literature (Brill, 1997).
