The Brown Distinguished Professor of Architecture and Art History at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, Thomas Noble Howe (“Power Houses: The Seaside Villas of Stabiae”) is currently Coordinator General for the Restoring Ancient Stabiae Foundation. He is also the illustrator of a recent edition of Vitruvius’s Ten Books on Architecture, translated by Ingrid Rowland (Cambridge Univ. Press, 1999).
Trevor Bryce (“The Last Days of Hattusa”) is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities and Honorary Research Consultant at the University of Queensland, Australia. His recent publications include The Kingdom of the Hittites (Oxford Univ. Press, 1998) and Life and Society in the Hittite World (Oxford Univ. Press, 2002).
