BAR Scholarship Winners Help Dig Biblical Sites - The BAS Library


This summer the trenches are once again filled with volunteers who have traveled to the Middle East to participate in archaeological excavations. BAR offered scholarships of $1,000 each to 23 qualified volunteers who would not otherwise have been able to participate.

This year’s dig scholarship winners were chosen from a pool of more than 100 applicants. This group includes a diverse array of both undergraduate students and Ph.D. candidates, as well as several working professionals who wanted to get a taste of the life of an archaeologist. They were accepted to work at sites throughout Israel and Jordan.
