Dan Bahat

Dan Bahat served as the Jerusalem district archaeologist from 1978 to 1990; for a dozen years before that, he was district archaeologist for the Galilee. Bahat has directed digs at Tel Dan, the Beth-Shean synagogue and Herod’s Palace in Jerusalem. He served as a long time faculty member of Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv and the University of St. Michael’s College in Toronto. In 1989 he became only the third person to receive the Jerusalem Archaeology Award.
