Lawrence H. Schiffman

Lawrence H. Schiffman is currently the Judge Abraham Lieberman Professor of Hebrew and Judaic Studies and the Director of the Global Institute for Advanced Research in Jewish Studies at New York University. A specialist in Judaism in Late Antiquity, the history of Jewish law and Talmudic literature, as well as the Dead Sea Scrolls, he is author of From Text to Tradition, A History of Judaism in the Second Temple and Rabbinic Times (Ktav, 1989) and Reclaiming the Dead Sea Scrolls (Jewish Publication Society, 1994).
